I Love Oak Harbor!

It’s true. Although I moved here recently, I have been a resident of Oak Harbor in my heart for years. Since my move, I have thrown myself into the community and I couldn’t be happier!

Here are a few things I am working on:

Oak Harbor Main Street Association

This organization promotes a vibrant, historic waterfront community. Downtown Oak Harbor is not only a nostalgic shopping area, but it includes beautiful views of the Puget Sound, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains. Of course, it wouldn’t be Oak Harbor without our Garry Oak tree grove!

Oak Harbor Chamber of Commerce
North Whidby Sunrise Rotary Club

Rotary Club of North Whidbey Island Sunrise – Our club operates under the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”. From working with Rotary International to end polio throughout the world to providing grants to local families in need, orchestrating our Annual Challenge Series which includes gravity races for kids with special needs, collecting coats for kids in need, and even hosting an Annual Walk 4 Water fundraiser to provide access to water for the people of Uganda, when we see a need, we jump in with both feet to help! Local Causes:

Whidbey Animals Improvement Foundation (WAIF)

Did you know you can go walk a dog at any time? You don’t have to volunteer on a regular basis. Simply call and say, “Hey, can I come walk a dog today? I have time at such and such!”  You do have to do an orientation in the beginning to learn all the rules and all but after that you can just call or stop by! How cool is that?

Habitat for Humanity

This is a fantastic local store where you can donate your household furniture and materials with the proceeds go towards helping others. We have already donated three items!
